This project is inspired by the story of “hormone-treated chicken” (chicken injected with illegal growth hormones), a phenomenon commonly seen in the food industry. In the form of a graphic novel, I narrate the story of the protagonist, a small chicken, playing in a “chicken’s amusement park.” However, it is revealed in the end that all these activities were steps taken by humans to produce “hormone-treated chicken.” Although each of the drawings corresponds to a real-life scenario in chicken farming, I have chosen to take a more ‘innocent’ approach of “the amusement park” to illustrate the world from the little chicken’s point of view.
